The Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) – State Level Camp (Dakshin Region) was successfully organized at Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), Namakkal, on 3rd and 4th January 2026. The two-day camp aimed at nurturing scientific temperament and encouraging young minds to explore research, innovation and practical applications in science.
The inaugural ceremony was held on 3rd January 2026 at Tata Hall and was presided over by Shri. CA N.V. Natarajan, Founder & Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions. The keynote addresses were delivered by Dr. S. Ponraju, Former Senior Principal Scientist, IGCAR, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and Dr. U. Sathya, Senior Scientist, CSIR–CLRI, Chennai. The speakers emphasized the importance of scientific inquiry, innovation and the role of science education in nation-building.
During the camp, students actively participated in various laboratory experiments across different scientific disciplines. They engaged in hands-on experimental sessions that enhanced their analytical thinking, observation skills and practical understanding of scientific concepts. In addition to laboratory activities, students also appeared for a written examination to assess their conceptual clarity, problem-solving abilities and overall scientific aptitude.
The valedictory ceremony was conducted on 4th January 2026 at 3.30 p.m. The function was presided over by Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director – Administration, Paavai Engineering College and Dr. Krishnamoorthy, Director – Research. The Chief Guests, Dr. S. Sudhakar, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR–CECRI and Mr. S.M. Kumar, District Science Officer, NCSM, Ministry of Culture, Government of India motivated the students to pursue excellence in STEM fields and research careers. Ms. Jaya P. Swaminathan, Member, Academic Committee, VVM attended as Guest of Honour.
All the winners of the State Level Camp were felicitated and awarded certificates and they have been promoted to the next level of the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan programme.
The camp concluded successfully with encouraging remarks from the coordinators and appreciation extended to all participants, organizers and faculty members for their dedicated efforts in making the event a grand success.
