Event Name: Theatrix - Skit

About:

A skit is a short literary piece of a humorous or satirical character which is meant to make the audience Roll-On-The-Floor-Laughing or leave with wise thoughts in their mind. A skit is the known to be the most powerful form of drama.

Format:

A single person can mono-act under this category or groups of 2 or more can perform too.

Rules:

• 2 Teams per College (1 theme based + 1 general category).
• Theme (theme based round) : வெற்றியின் ஏணிப்படி
• Max 20 Participants per Team
• Time for each Team is limited to 10 + 3 mins for stage setting and clearing the stage. Violating Time limit will result in elimination.
• The teams need to clean up any mess or trash, etc. that you may use or make during your skit and all teams need to have representation backstage to clean the stage after the team’s program
• Microphones will be provided.
• Any form of obscenity will result in debarring the team from Participation.
• Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Theme, Theme execution, Properties used/ costume, Performance.

Event Name: Street Play

About:

There isn’t much difference between a skit and a street play. Street play is a serious form of drama that focuses on the various social issues regrading the society. Street Play has lot of dramatization, use of props and out-of-the-box methods to convey their message. BE LOUD!

Format:

It should be a group act focusing on the present social scenarios.

Rules:

• 1 Team Per college.
• Maximum 30 Participants per Team.
• No Mics, No Speakers or any other form of Play back.
• Time Limit: Max 15 mins.
• Any form of Vulgarity is not Allowed.
• Properties are allowed.
• Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Theme, Theme execution, Properties used/ costume, Engaging the public, Performance.

Event Name: Mute-Mime

About:

Whenever the word mime comes up, people picturize a white—washed face with a sad expression pushing imaginary walls around.Mime is the art of expressing using bodily movements and is a pure form of acting, unadulterated by words and where actions speak the loudest.

Format:

It should be a group act focusing on a particular theme.

Rules:

• 2 Teams per College.
• Max 15 Participants per Team.
• Time for each Team is limited to 10 + 3 mins for stage setting and clearing the stage. Violating Time limit will result in elimination.
• The teams need to clean up any mess or trash, etc. that you may use or make during your skit and all teams need to have representation backstage to clean the stage after the team’s program.

Event Name: Mimicry

About:

This is the only form of copying that doesn’t result in punishment and is appreciated by everyone. Mimicry need not be limited just to vocal variation, instead it can also be made a treat to watch by dressing up like the person to be mimicked.

Format:

This is a solo event where participants can mimic sound of machines or any famous personality.

Rules:

• Maximum 3 Participants Per college.
• Time limit : 2-3 mins.
• Any form of Vulgarity is not Allowed.
• Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Character chosen, Execution of the character, Creativity.
