Kala Utsav – A Living Tradition of Arts:
Government of Tamil Nadu (Department of School Education), RMSA and SCERT jointly organized a traditional programme “Tamil Kala Utsav 2016” at Paavai Educational Institutions on 07.10.2016 and 08.10.2016.
The theme of Kala Utsav is ‘Living traditions of tribal, folk and traditional arts of different regions’. India is a land of performing and visual arts, some of which are gradually fading out from the mainstream. Though these art forms are in the category of our living traditions at present, but if not given due attention, these might disappear in due course of time. So, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) initiated Kala Utsav to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country. Kala Utsav Areas of Art includes 1. Music 2. Dance 3. Theatre 4. Visual Art.
Students from all over Tamil Nadu participated in this artistic events and exposed their talent.
Students who won 1st prize in the areas of Music, Dance, Theatre and Visual Art in “Tamil Kala Utsav 2016”, shall be entering into the state level competition – “Kala Utsav 2016”.
