The Sports Day celebration was held at Paavai Educational Institutions. The Founder and Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.
The special guest for the occasion was Dr. Harini Muralidharan, Founder and Co-Director of “The Performance Doctor,” Chennai, and also the doctor and manager of the RCB Women’s Cricket Team.
Mr. Ajmal Thasheen, a final-year Cyber Security student of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the gathering. The Chairman and Correspondent honored the special guest with a memento and a shawl. Yoga Trainer Mr. Ilavarasan presented the annual report.

Following this, the special guest, Dr. Harini Muralidharan, delivered an inspiring speech. In her address, she expressed her happiness in witnessing Paavai Educational Institutions consistently emerging as a leading institution among Anna University Engineering Colleges by producing outstanding achievers in sports. She emphasized that to progress to higher levels in sports, students must follow three key principles: integrity, perseverance and accountability sense of responsibility.
She further advised students that they should be true to their sport and give their hundred percent commitment, rather than merely playing for their coaches. She highlighted that success can be achieved through continuous effort and self-confidence, even in challenging situations. She also stressed the importance of responsibility, stating that only when players perform with dedication and accountability can both individuals and teams succeed.
She added that a healthy body fosters a healthy mind, and sports play a vital role in achieving physical well-being. She appreciated the institution for providing excellent facilities and encouraging students to actively participate in sports. She also acknowledged the support of the Physical Education Department, teachers, and coaches in shaping students’ achievements.
She expressed her delight at the availability of international-standard sports facilities on campus and noted that such efforts have contributed to Paavai Educational Institutions winning the Anna University “Champions of Champions” title continuously for ten years.
She encouraged students to always believe in themselves and said that if the same focus and determination shown in sports are applied to academics, they would shine brilliantly. She also mentioned that sports can serve as a strong foundation for career growth and noted that many students from the institution have secured positions in the army, revenue department, banking sector, and police department. She concluded by wishing students success in achieving excellence at international levels, including the Olympics, and bringing pride to the nation.
Subsequently, the special guest, along with the Chairman, Correspondent, and college administrators, distributed trophies and medals to the winners of various sports competitions and to the coaches.
Finally, Ms. Jessica, a second-year Electronics and Communication Engineering student, delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the National Anthem.
