A two day FDP was conducted for the faculty members belonging to the department of English from PEC, PCE and PCT. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, welcomed the gathering and suggested the faculty members to make use of the opportunity to enhance their English knowledge.
On the first day, the forenoon session was handled by Prof. R.Chenniappan, Dean English, on the title “Speech Sounds of English”. This session was followed by Dr.R.Shanthi, HoD of English, PEC handling the topic “Essay Writing”. In the afternoon session, a test was conducted on the topics which were taught in the forenoon session.
On the second day, the forenoon session was handled by Prof. R.Chenniappan on the titles “Stress and Accent” and “Intonation”. Following him, Dr.R.Shanthi explained her views on “Review Writing”. In the afternoon session, a test was conducted.
On the whole, this FDP programme had been beneficial to all the 15 faculty members of English belonging to PEC, PCE and PCT.
