Women Empowerment Series XVII held on 18.10.2022

On 18^th October 2022, motivational speech on “Earn, Spend, Save and Invest effectively” was conducted in Pragathi Hall at 2.00 p.m. The programme commenced with the prayer song and Tamilthai Vazhthu by students followed by lighting the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries.  Ms.B.Jananee of III B.A. English welcomed the gathering.

Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman of Paavai Institutions honored the Guest Speaker with shawl and memento. In his presidential address he stated that students should properly earn knowledge from all available resources and aim high with humble beginning to reach the sky. He asserted that finance will financially and socially help women to be respected in the society. He then advised the students to be cautious in earning, plan before spending the accumulated savings to be invested and multiply it. He concluded his speech by demanded the students to have hard work, smart work, perseverance and confidence.

Ms. B.Shobika of I B.Com.C.A introduced the Guest Speaker. The Guest Speaker Mrs.Suganthi Atthiyappan, Head of Indian Corporate Desk, (Rtd)., BNP Paribas, Hong Kong asserted that women shine in all fields, as plenty opportunities are available for them all around the globe. She then said that real women empowerment lies in the place where women are recognized. She precisely explained the kural, “இயற்றலும் ஈட்டலும் காத்தலும் காத்த வகுத்தலும் வல்ல தரசு” which is appropriately applicable for women in current scenario.  She then said that women should be proactive and go extra mile which helps to carry out their work with 100% perfection, respect and attitude. She then gave some effective ideas to start business, ways of allocation of funds in life insurance, liquidity, mutual funds and various investments.  In her significant remarks, she instructed the students to train themselves by constant pursuit of learning organization and management skills and spend the acquired knowledge based on their betterment in physical activity and self-love.  She concluded her speech by advising them to have conscious decision making, consultancy with elders and teachers, inherent risk and timely actions.

The Correspondent of Paavai Institutions felicitated the gathering. In her felicitation, she proclaimed to break the routine not the rules to achieve high.  She insisted the students to invest their time and efforts to invest their future life.  She further said that women should have financial freedom and the ability to take stern decisions. She wished the students all success by uplifting their inner power and self-motivation.

The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms.K.Sujitha of I B.Com followed by the National Anthem.  Heads of various departments and the staff members of Pavai Arts and Science College for Women graced the occasion by their presence.
