The Polytechnic first year orientation program on 27th june, 2017

The first year orientation program was started at Visveswaraya hall on 27th june, 2017. The first session was handled by Mrs. K. Subhashini, Associate professor, Faculty Development Department. She taught about the Beauty of Mathematics to the students. The students have learnt a few new tricks in Mathematics by this session. Then the second session was handled by Dr. S. Sukumar, Dean Civil, Paavai Engineering College. He taught the students how to study technical subjects. The students understood clearly and enjoyed the session. After the break, the session was handled by Mr. C. Loganathan, HoD Audio Visual Department, Paavai Institutions. He taught about Life skills to the students. It was very useful for the students.

In the afternoon session, the students were taught about the Fundamentals of all subjects and particularly the Fundamentals of Science subject. It was taught by Dr. A. S. Kandasamy, Dean ECE, Paavai Engineering College.

In the first session of the second day (28/06/2017) Mrs. S. Mahalakshmi, Additional Placement Officer, Paavai Engineering College, gave a talk on Career Development. She spoke about interview techniques and self discipline. After that, the next session was handled by Mrs. S. Sumathi, Principal, Paavai Polytechnic College. She threw light on the Examination System to the students.

The afternoon session of the second day was started by Mrs. C. Jayalakshmi, Dean Counselling, Paavai Institutions. She explained about the Transition from school to college. The students learnt how to behave in college by this session. The next session was handled by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College. She spoke about Paavai Culture and gave some instructions to the students.

The first session of the third day (29/06/2017) started with Dr. R. Shanthi, HoD, Paavai Engineering College. She gave tips to improve one’s Communication skills. In this session, the students came to know about the importance of English.

Shri.CA N. V. NATARAJAN, CHAIRMAN, PAAVAI INSTITUTIONS, addressed the students on the fifth day (01/07/2017) of the program. He delivered his speech about Goal Setting. In that session students were motivated to achieve their goal in a smart way.

The orientation program was repeated for the second batch of students for three days (29/06/2017, 30/06/2017, 01/07/2017). All the resource persons motivated and inspired the students with the added interest and enthusiasm.

In the afternoon of the last day (03/07/2017) of the orientation program, chances were given to all the first year students to give their feedback infront on The Chairman sir and Correspondent madam. After the students feedback, Correspondent madam felicitated the gathering. After her felicitation, the Chairman sir gave his Valedictory address to the students. Finally, the whole program was completed with The National Anthem by the students.
