The Annual Sports Day ’24 was celebrated at Paavai Educational Institutions on May 2nd, 2024. The ceremony commenced with a prayer song invoking God’s blessings, followed by the Tamil Thai vazhthu. Mr. NV Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the function. The esteemed chief guest was Mr. S. Aruna, Zonal Senior Manager of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority in Coimbatore.
Ms. R. Swetha, second-year computer engineering student, warmly welcomed the gathering. The Director of Physical Education, Mr. S. Jagadish, presented the annual report. In his address, Mr. S. Aruna emphasized the significance of sports, praising the college’s provision of top-notch facilities to engage students in athletic pursuits.
He expressed delight in the establishment of international standard sports infrastructure which enabled students to succeed in all their sports events.The college’s dedication to sports has led to remarkable achievements, including the Champion of Champions title of Anna University for eight times consecutively.He also underscored the necessity of sports for students, highlighting its role in character development, fostering self-confidence, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and earning respect in society. He encouraged students to seize opportunities offered by the Sports Development Authority’s scholarship programs to further their progress in sports.
He added that It’s crucial for sports students to adopt good lifestyle and dietary habits to excel. A healthy body nurtures a healthy mind, preventing various diseases and enhancing memory. Engaging in sports fosters physical and mental strength, instilling competitive spirit, leadership qualities, and decision-making skills. Moreover, it offers excellent career prospects and cultivates maturity to embrace failure and resilience to persevere.
Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions felicitated the gathering. Special guests awarded trophies and medals to outstanding students and coaches. The event concluded with heartfelt thanks from second-year IT student Ms. Sruthika .
