Anna University Sports Department organizes yearly various sports competitions among engineering colleges to emphasize the importance of sports. For the academic year 2023-2024, sports competitions were conducted across a total of 19 zones in Tamil Nadu. In this regard, students of Paavai Engineering College participated in various sports competitions, scoring 610 points at the zonal level and 580 points at the state level, thereby securing the first place at both the zonal and state levels.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, zonal and state-level sports competitions were held among the affiliated colleges of Anna University. Paavai Engineering College secured the first place at the zonal level by scoring 610 points in various sports competitions. Additionally, the college participated in various state-level sports competitions, scoring 580 points and securing the first place at the state level as well.
An award ceremony was held at Anna University, Chennai, to honour the victorious athletes. In this event, the Chief Guest Mr. Nabi Mohammed Riyas presented the award, and CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, received the Champion of Champions trophy. The award ceremony was graced by Dr. P. Ashok Singamani, Vice Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority, Dr. R. Velraj, Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Dr. J. Prakash, Registrar, Dr. N. Senthilkumar, Head of the Sports Department, and other dignitaries associated with the Anna University Sports Department.
It is noteworthy that Paavai Engineering College has consistently held the first place in the Anna University Sports Department ranking list for the eighth consecutive time. CA. N.V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Correspondent Smt. Mangainatarajan, Directors, Deans, Principals, Heads of Departments, and faculty members, extended their congratulations to Mr.N. Santhanaraja, Director of Physical Education, the trainers, and the winners.
