The Teachers’ Day celebration was held at Paavai Educational Institutions under the theme of “Guru Vanakkam.” The event began with the students offering their prayers and singing the Tamil Thai Vazhthu (a praise song to Mother Tamil). The Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Auditor Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, presided over the event and delivered the presidential address.
The Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Auditor Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educaiton Institutions lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the event.
In his keynote address, the Chairman expressed his Teachers’ Day greetings by saying, “I extend my best wishes to all of you who are diligently carrying out the noble work of teaching. Celebrating events like this helps eliminate negative thoughts among students and brings clarity to their minds. Your profession as a teacher is a wonderful gift. You are the second parents of the students. Through you, they see the real world. You are their mentors, guides, friends, trainers, leaders, and everything. You are worthy of being revered. Therefore, you must carry out your duties with dedication, responsibility, and devotion. A society where teachers are revered and celebrated is a society that flourishes and prospers. The traditions and customs we followed in ancient times were aimed at nurturing our heritage, culture, and values in the minds of children and students. However, over time, those old good practices have started to fade away. Therefore, as teachers, you must teach the students to respect elders, teachers, and scholars. When you do so, your virtues, skills, and knowledge will reflect in the students, elevating their values. Only you, as teachers, can bring about significant changes in students because of your genuine concern and effective teaching. Your small encouragement and efforts can become major factors in students’ success. It is only through your teaching abilities that students can acquire world-class education and knowledge. At the same time, you must continue to improve yourselves daily. Only then can you stand out as exceptional professors. I wish you all success in your journey to becoming even better teachers.”
Following this, students expressed their love and respect for their teachers by performing the traditional practice of “Paatha Pooja” (worshipping the feet of their teachers). The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Director of Paavai Educational Institutions, Dr. Ramasamy, bringing the celebration to a happy end.
Dr. Satheesh, Director of Paavai Vidyasram Schools, along with the Principals, Heads of Departments, professors, and numerous students, participated in the event.
