Orientation programme for final year UG students was held from 26th to 28th December 2018 in Pavai Arts and Science College for Women. The sessions were handled by the Jaycee trainers Mr.Karthick, Mrs.Sheetal Gandhi, Mrs.Rajeswari Venkataraman and Mr.Neethi Gurusamy. Mr.J.Karthic, International JCI trainer, in his session “Solid Plan”, enthused the students to be bold enough to face any situation, adapt to the changes, avoid social websites which fools them, think differently and move forward. He said that education is the most valuable asset given by parents; only through education students come to know what is good to them and gain confidence to reach high position in life. He also stated that the thought of being a girl should be in attitude and not in performance, because only attitude speaks about her. He further said that communication skills, Leadership skills, Team skill, Interpersonal skill, Time management skill, Thinking skill, Reading skill and Presentation skills are the skills which would help to conquer the world. He then concluded his session asking the students to work hard with a solid plan to change the fate of their families and attain success. Mrs. Sheetal Gandhi in her session “Organizing Your Life” breezily emphasized the students how well their life can be organized. She asked the students to have quality thoughts, concentration, determination, interest, involvement, passion and focus on their vision. She narrated the lives of the famous successful personalities Michael Jordan, Saniya Mirza, Operah Winfrey, Indira Nooyi, Sudha Murthy, Malala Yoursafzai and Dhirubhai Ambani and detailed the efforts taken by them to attain success. She said that women have strong will power and should never give up as they can do what they think. She also asked the students to take a decision first and then make it right and create their own identity. Finally she insisted the students to achieve their goal with the help of presence of mind, creativity, perfection, interest and education. Mr. Neethi Gurusamy in his session “College to Career” prodded the students to improve their talents by continuous learning and strictly adhering to the moral values like loyalty, commitment, honesty, creativity, positivity, respect, courage, service, motivation and open-mindedness. He said that students can achieve anything they wish if they adapt to every situation. He briefly expounded the concept BASKET: Behaviour, attitude. Script, kindle, enthusiasm, tolerance and insisted that only education, moral values and communication skills will take the students to high position. Mrs.Rajeswari Venkataraman in her session “What Next?” explicated that a person who tolerates everything is the most strongest and so students should be strong enough to overcome all hurdles with confidence, fearlessness, proper decision making and good health. She valued the college for providing support in all the ways like good teaching, safety, dress code which is for common goodness and training programs to improve students’ career. She also said that in current scenario more opportunities are for female candidates than male as women are more accountable. She as a final point said that only education earns respect, provides reasoning quality and raises the financial position and she asked the students to establish the goal and then settle in their life. The three days orientation programme paved way for the final year students to tread in the right path in their career. The program also gave a clear vision on moral values and setting goals.
