A two day intra-collegiate Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized on the subject “MECHANICS OF MACHINES AND VEHICLE DESIGN & DATA CHARACTERISTICS” for Automobile Engineering staff of Paavai Institutions on 08th and 09th of May 2017 at PEC, Hall NO.315 & 316. The resource persons were Mr.J.Narendran, HoD, Mr.R.Harisudhan, Assistant Professor, Mr.M.Gowrisankar, Assistant Professor and Mr.N.Arulmurthi, Assistant Professor, Automobile department of Paavai College of Engineering.
The program took place in four sessions covering theory and practicals related to the area of study. On the first day (08.05.2017) “Basics of Mechanisms and its Applications, CAM” were taught and members were given drawing exercises with problems to be solved. In the afternoon “Vibration and its importance” was taught. The members were given exercises with problems to be solved.
On the second day (09.05.2017) the resource persons Mr.M.Gowrisankar and Mr.N.Arulmurthi explained about “vehicle design and data characteristics principles”. The staff members interacted with the resource person on the topic “Gear box Design and Connecting Rod Design” and got their doubts clarified. In the afternoon tutorials were conducted much to the satisfaction of the faculty. While receiving their corrected exercise, the members gave their feedback stating that the program fulfilled their expectation.
Earlier, Dr.K.Selvi Dean Academics welcomed the gathering and talked about the need for FDP and Dr.S.Sukumar Dean Civil gave his valuable suggestions during the program. Dr.M.Premkumar principal PEC and Director Admin encouraged the staff members to attend many more events of these types.
