The Lamp Lighting ceremony for the first-year B.Sc Nursing eighth batch (2023-2024) was held on Friday, August 9, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pragathi Hall. The program began with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries on the dais. Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal of Paavai College of Nursing and Research, delivered the welcome address. Thiru CA N.V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Group of Institutions, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.
The students received their light from the chief guest, Dr. Hemalatha Sugavanan, and Correspondent Thirumathi Mangai Natarajan. The lamp song was sung by the first-year students, followed by the Florence Nightingale Pledge, delivered by Dr. Saridha Prema, Vice-Principal of Paavai College of Nursing and Research. The chief guest, Dr. Hemalatha Sugavanan, M.D., Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from Sugam Hospital, Rasipuram, delivered the keynote address. Felicitations were offered by Thirumathi Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Group of Institutions. Ms. Thirumatha, a fourth-year B.Sc Nursing student, delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
