The inauguration ceremony for the first-year classes of engineering students for the 2024-2025 academic year at Paavai Engineering Colleges was held. The event began with an invocation and the Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu (a Tamil song of praise). Shri CA N.V. Natarajan, the Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the function. Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, the Director (Administration), delivered the welcome address and greeted everyone.
Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the ceremony and offered her wishes.
Following this, Shri CA N.V. Natarajan, the Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, officially opened the first-year classes and delivered the keynote address. In his speech, he said, “Congratulations to all of you who have completed your school education and are now stepping into college life. Just as the five fingers of a hand work together to achieve productive outcomes, similarly, students, teachers, parents, society, and the administration must work together to ensure a bright future in education. You, the students, are the most important part of an educational institution. As students, make the most of the opportunities you have during your learning years. Always show respect to your teachers, who play a significant role in your success, and show love to your parents, who dedicate their time, effort, and resources for you. As young people, you must focus on seven key principles for your growth: never procrastinate and always manage your time effectively. Avoid distractions during study time, and pay attention to both your physical and mental health. You must cultivate the habit of finishing tasks on time to avoid last-minute stress. Never hesitate to seek good advice from others. Lastly, use mobile phones and televisions only for productive purposes. Along with these, always be grateful and appreciate others. By following these principles, you can advance on the path of growth. Our Paavai College will always be a strong support for you. Our students will have opportunities for hands-on training in various industries for periods ranging from 4 to 12 weeks. The college is equipped with excellent libraries, laboratories, sports facilities, and auditoriums. Paavai has been ranked among the top three colleges in India for research and innovation by the Confederation of Indian Industry for the fourth consecutive time. Additionally, in the Internshala Internship program, Paavai College has secured the first position for the seventh time. In the Anna University’s sports division, the college has claimed the ‘Champions of Champions’ title for eight consecutive years. Moreover, Paavai College ranks third in Tamil Nadu in terms of student admissions. I extend my best wishes to all of you to make full use of the resources provided by our college and to become successful individuals in life.”
Finally, Dr. M. Premkumar, the Principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the national anthem.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. T.R. Palanivel, the Secretary of Paavai Educational Institutions, Mr. K. Senthil, the Director (Admissions), Dr. V. Hariharan, the Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, Dr. E. Immanuel, the Vice Principal, heads of departments, professors, first-year students, and their parents.
