Graduation Day ceremony held on 03.09.2017

The 12th Graduation ceremony of Paavai Engineering College and Paavai College of Engineering took place on 03.09.2017. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the convocation ceremony and delivered his presidential address. The chief guest, Dr.S.K.Patnaik, Former Director of AICTE, New Delhi, congratulated the young graduates and addressed them as follows:
“ To begin with I sincerely appreciate the milestones of Paavai Educational Institutions under the able leadership of your Chairman. As regards the young graduates, I would like to tell you that graduation is not the end of the story ; it is the beginning of a new life, You are entering into a new world, which is filled with opportunities. And you should feel happy that the country itself is at a defining moment of increasing its budget with reference to infrastructure development encompassing areas, such as transport, housing, metro services, joining of rivers, etc..,And by 2020, the 60% of the youth folk who are in the age bracket of 17-23 years would get plenty of employment opportunities. So all engineers should participate in the nation building activities by acquiring adequate the knowledge and the necessary skills. Every engineering graduate should have a skill set themselves which knowledge can be translated into ideas and the ides into products .India as envisaged by the Prime Minister is going to be completely digital and to make the nation empowered in every expectation we need to celebrate the leaders.
Henceforth, the graduates should learn their leadership qualities. Blind acceptance of things will take them no where. One needs to question and introspect one’s endeavours. The SWOT analysis exercise that a person takes on himself should guide him to be in the first quadrant of operation : “ I know what I know ” and every sincere effort to improve one’s inadequacies will pay a rich dividend in the long run. I am sure the most despicable illiterates of the 21st century are those who refuse learning, unlearning and relearning. Technology is growing so fast and if we do not keep pace with the advancing technology we will become obsolete. The first and foremost thing in life is to stay updated. Engineering is 90% skill and 10% knowledge and therefore one has to continuously practice the skills. Any assignment or job should be immediately accepted and deliberated on for further execution.
You should always uphold the dignity of labour. Every job, physical or mental, deserves for equal respect and dignity. To conclude, I want to tell you that you must accept responsibility in order to contribute to the cutting – edge of science and technology. Secondly, dissolve all imaginary boundaries. Try to learn the interdisciplinary cultures. Be strong in your fundamental sciences because Engineering is applied science or an extension of science.
Finally get yourself involved in the life-long process of learning. It is a happy news that India is going to the advent of intensity massive online open courses in the near future

As the President of the graduation ceremony Paavai Chairman conducted the entire proceedings of the event. And also administered the graduation oath to the graduates who got their degree and gold coins were given by the Chairman to the university rank holders.
Earlier, Shrimathi.Mangai Natarajan lighted the Kuththuvilakku along with the dignitaries. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, welcomed the gathering and Dr.m.Devi , Principal, Paavai College of Engineering proposed the vote of thanks.
