Research collaborative visit of Professor Dr. Richard Voyles, Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and Dr. Raji Sundararajan, Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, to Paavai Educational Institutions on June 7, 2024.
Professor Dr. Richard Voyles, Head of the Collaborative Robotics Lab at Purdue and Director of the Robotics Accelerator, who is proficient in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science engineering, along with Dr. Raji Sundararajan, a scholarly Professor of Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, Indiana, US, visited Paavai Educational Institutions on 7-06-24 to exchange research and collaborate with faculty members and students.
On this auspicious day, a special program was organized for the Principals, Deans, Heads of Departments, senior faculty members, and those inclined towards research. Principal Dr. M. Prem Kumar introduced the eminent professors, Dr. Richard Voyles and Dr. Raji Sundararajan, to the august gathering. During the session, the chief guests provided invaluable insights from their diverse intellectual experiences in Robotics and Electrical Engineering research.
Following the faculty interaction, a brainstorming session was held where selected student projects showcasing the latest advancements in science and technology were exhibited, and students enthusiastically presented their project ideas to the chief guests. Dr. Richard Voyles and Dr. Raji Sundararajan were impressed by the quality of the projects and applauded the students’ knowledge and interests. They expressed their satisfaction and provided intellectual input to the students. Dr. Richard also offered collaborative opportunities for students interested in Robotics engineering projects to intern at his research laboratory.
The post-lunch session included an interactive session for students of Paavai Educational Institutions with the chief guests. Dr. Richard Voyles and Dr. Raji Sundararajan engaged keenly with students’ queries about the latest technological developments in current research innovations. In addition to research discussions, Dr. Richard Voyles’s inspirational talk focused on guiding students to channelize their skills in the right direction and achieve great heights. Dr. Raji Sundararajan’s inspirational talk encouraged students to pursue their dreams and lead meaningful lives.
