The faculty development department (FDD) conducted a one day faculty development programme for the faculty of mechanical engineering on 18th May 2017 at PCE. The Programme dealt with make practical exposure and its application on Dynamics Laboratory. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean-Academics, welcomed the gathering and talked about the importance of subject enhancement. The programme was organized in four sessions.
The resource person Mr.A.Aravindh, Assistant professor/Mechanical dealt with the topic “Dynamics” during the first session. In this session he explained the basic concepts of Dynamics, it deals with the force on the machine encountered in practice and solved them in a systematic manner. During the second session, all the faculty did Dynamics experiments at Dynamics Laboratory in an effective manner. The hands-on training was very useful for the faculty to know about the application of Dynamics.
The next session was handled by Mr.A.Aravindh, Assistant professor/Mechanical on the topic, “Dynamics”. In this session he explained the basic mechanical principle governing the energy transfer in a dynamic machine and also gave a brief description of different kinds of machines along with their performances. The hands-on training on Dynamics of machines experiments using Dynamics Laboratory took place in the last session.
This one day FDP was an exclusive forum to discuss and extend the practical knowledge of faculty members. It is sure that the faculty members have got a clear idea regarding the ways and means of handling the experiments with an in-depth knowledge to the students.
