Faculty Development Program on KINEMATICS OF MACHINERY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
A two day intra-collegiate Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized on the subject “Kinematics of Machinery” for Mechanical engineering staff of Paavai Institutions on 24th and 25th of November 2016 at PEC, Cute Hall. The resource person was Mr.J.Selvakumar, Associate Professor ,Mechanical department of Paavai College of Engineering.
The program took place in four sessions covering theory and practicals related to the area of study. On the first day “Basics of Mechanisms, kinematics and its Applications” were taught along with audio visual presentation. In the afternoon the members were given drawing exercises with problems to be solved.
On the second day in the morning the resource person explained about CAM and the principles of follower. The staff members interacted with the resource person on the topic “Gear and Gear trains” and got their doubts clarified. In the afternoon tutorials were conducted much to the satisfaction of the faculty. While receiving their corrected exercise, the members gave their feedback that the program fulfilled their expectation.
Earlier, Dr.K.Selvi Dean Academics welcomed the gathering and talked about the need for FDP and Dr.S.Sukumar Dean Civil gave his valuable suggestions during the program. Dr.M.Premkumar principal PEC and Director Admin encouraged the staff members to attend many more events of these types.
