A Week-Long Orientation programme for Paavai First year Engineering students on the title “Eyes on the star, Feet on the ground” was organized by the Departments of Science and Humanities of Paavai Engineering Colleges from 30.01.18 to 06.02.18 in different batches.
Mr.Karthik, the International JCI Trainer and his team were the resource persons for the programme. Mr.KarthiK motivated the students as to how to treat their parents and siblings with Love Gratitude and Kindness. He also advised the students to obey the words of parents and asked them to give respect to their feelings. Through his speech, he profoundly influenced the listeners.
Mr.Neethi Gurusamy, spoke about “Inward Journey”. He interacted with the students and they actively participated in the session. He dealt about “SWOT” analysis through which the students were enabled to identify their Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat. He gave a number of life oriented examples and inspired the students.
Mr. Ramesh, another speaker, talked about Goal Setting. He asked the students to set their goal in life not approximately, but accurately by fixing the day, date, time and year. This futuristic exercise taught them the skill of time-management and purposefulness in life. To intensify the need for Goal-Setting and time-management in various levels, Mr.Karthik, once again gave a support session citing examples from the lives of the CEO of Apple-Steeve Jobs, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitha Bachan etc. He emotionally and intellectually related himself to the students and they did feel the powerful impact he created on them.
In tune with the title “Eyes on the star, Feet on the ground” the students were motivated to connect dream and reality, planning and execution. This programme gave enough strength to students with respect to their cognitive, affective and psychomotor development.
