A two day ICMR sponsored National Level workshop on the title “Awareness about Safety of Human Health amongst the Natural Environment” was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 23.06.2017 and 24.06.2017 in Cute Hall.
The function started with the prayer song. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, presided over the function. While delivering the presidential address, he insisted the students to acquire knowledge about healthy food habits and life cycle and follow the same to lead a happy life and profession.
On day one, two sessions were conducted. The morning session was handled by the resource person Dr.K.R.Uma Devi, Scientist ‘D’ & HoD, Immunology, National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai. She explained about the reasons, types and treatment available for tuberculosis. Also she added the role of Engineers in the design of equipments that are currently used in TB treatment at low cost. The afternoon session was handled by Dr.A.Kandasamy, Professor, Department of ECE. He explained about the importance of domain knowledge and the safety measures that should be taken into consideration while designing the equipments that are used in medical field. At the end of the session, the students had an interaction with him and he enlightened the students with his valuable thoughts.
The morning session of the second day was handled by Dr.S.Ashok, Managing Director, Saravana Hospitals, Salem. He elaborated on health and hygiene and treatment for various diseases. The afternoon session was illuminated by Thiru.Angamuthu, Social Activitist. In that session he spoke about siddha medicine that are available around us and simple exercises that are to be imbibed in our daily life.
Dr.R.Arangasamy, HoD/ECE, faculty members and students of our college as well as other colleges participated in the workshop.
Earlier Dr.R.Arangasamy, HoD/ECE, welcomed the gathering and Prof.S.Kumarganesh proposed the vote of thanks.
