The Faculty Development Department organized an in-house FDP for the faculty of Civil of Paavai Engineering Colleges on 17.05.2017 and 18.05.2017 on the title “Hands on Training on Ansys”. Dr.S.Sukumar (Dean, Civil, and Paavai Institutions) was the resource person for the forenoon session on 17.05.17. He explained about basic fundamentals and history of ANSYS. Mr.K.Vivek (Assistant Professor, Civil, PEC) and Ms.M.Tamilarasi (Lecturer / Civil / PEC) handled the second session wherein they gave various tutorials in ANSYS such as Analysis of Bucking of Column in Linear and Non linear analysis, Plane Stress Bracket and Cold Formed Steel Sections. Session on 18.05.2017 the staff members worked out the tutorials using ANSYS software. Dr.S.Sukumar, Dean Civil Engineering, and Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, graced the programme.
