Turncourt

Speaking “For” or “Against” a topic requires vast knowledge. Speaking for both of it simultaneously definitely requires one to be a voracious reader and listener. Turncourt requires the participants to speak “For” and “Against” the topic within the time limit.

This is a group event.

  • Maximum 4 Participants per Master Team.
  • Time Limit : 3 mins per participant.
  • Participants are asked to stick to the Time Limit.
  • Topics will be allocated as per lots.
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.
  • Only the first two places will be awarded.

Marks will be assessed based on Fluency, Content_relevance to the topic, Boldness/level of language usage, Presence of mind.

Channel Surfing

Imagine that you are acting in all the channels and assume someone has a remote control and is switching between the channels. Channel Surfing is just this and the team tackles as the judge keeps shifting between channels after a few seconds.

Group Event

  • Maximum 2 team per master Team
  • Maximum 4 participants per Team.

  • Participants have to enact the channel given by the judge and change to different channels spontaneously.
  • Modify your tone, your style, and your attitude if necessary.
  • The team will be judged based on spontaneity and creativity
  • No vulgarity will be allowed
  • You need to talk spontaneously for 1 minute either in TAMIL or English.

  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

  • Only the first two places will be awarded.

Marks will be assessed based on Fluency, Pronunciation, Boldness / level of language usage, Content_relevance to the topic.

Adzap

People might skip ads, but it has and will continue to be a means to showcase a product/service. Get ready to create an Ad for a product/service that the jury picks for you.

  • Group Event
  • Topic/Ad will being given on the spot with 10 mins preparation time.
  • 2 teams per master team.
  • 4 participants per Team.
  • Register yourself with overall staff co coordinator.

Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Only the first two places will be awarded.

Shipwreck

The judges assign you a character that is stuck on a sinking ship. You need to convince the ship’s captain to give you the sole jacket by telling him why you’re a better choice for getting the life jacket than any other character on the ship.

  • 4 per master team
  • Participants have to imbibe the character given by the judge and convince them accordingly.
  • They can modify their tone, style, and attitude as necessary.
  • The participant will be judged based on spontaneity and creativity.
  • No vulgarity will be allowed.

Jam

The JAM session is a vibrant showcase of verbal dexterity. Participants seize the moment, weaving words into captivating narratives and insightful commentary. At the JAM competition, we celebrate the art of impromptu speaking and reclaiming the stage as your own.

  • This is a solo event.
  • Four participants from each Master team.
  • Time Limit: Participants will have a single minute to speak. A 30-second preparation time will be given.
  • Topic: The topic will be provided on the spot. 

     

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on creativity, fluency, originality of thought, eloquence and adherence to the theme.

  • Upto 4 members in each group.
  • Four teams from each Master team.
  • Time Limit: 3-4 mins
  • Topic: The topic will be provided on the spot.

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on creativity, fluency, originality of thought, eloquence and adherence to the theme.
