Thandav- Classical (Solo)

Classical Dance has always been a feast for the eyes. A small expression in the face of a classical dancer can create a stir in the hearts of the spectators, leaving them spellbound. Classical dance is that wealth of the country that will never loose its sheen and value.

This is a solo event where any classical dance form can be presented.

  • Maximum 2 Registrations per Master Team.
  • Time Limit : Max 3+1 mins.
  • Breakable items, fire, water; inflammable items should not be used.
  • The performance will be judged based on choreography, Perfection, costumes, theme (optional) and props (optional).Students should note that the intensity of the dance should not be compromised.
  • Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
  • Participants should report to the venue before one hour with their Music CD’s.
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.
  • Only the first two places will be awarded.

Electric Heels- Non Classical (solo)

Non-Classical dance includes a variety of dances like folk, western, etc. These varieties provide room for artists to express their diverse skills.

This is a solo event where any non-classical dance form can be presented.

  • Maximum 4 Registrations per Master Team
  • Time Limit : Max 3+1 mins
  • Breakable items, fire, water; inflammable items should not be used.
  • The performance will be judged based on choreography, Perfection, costumes, theme (optional) and props (optional).Students should note that the intensity of the dance should not be compromised.
  • Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification
  • Participants should report to the venue before one hour with their Music CD’s.

Stepup Group Choreo War

As the saying goes “Birds of a feather flock together”, dancers who can tap their legs together to the tune alone can give a stunning performance. The audience are always thrilled to see a well coordinated team perform

Irrespective of the dance form, a group of students (Min 4 & Max 15) can register for this event.

  • 5 Teams Per Master Team. ( 2 teams for Theme based entry and 3 teams for free style entry)
  •  Minimum 4 and Maximum 15 members in a Team
  • Time Limit : Max 5+1 mins
  • Breakable items, fire, water; inflammable items should not be used.
  • The performance will be judged based on choreography, synchronization, costumes, theme and props.Students should note that the intensity of the dance should not be compromised.
  • Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification
  • Participating team should report to the venue before one hour with their Music CD’s.
  • Please register your choice of song/music with your staff co-ordinator, We request the staff co coordinators to mail your college’s choice to our astra mail id).
  • We are not going to entertain repetition of songs, so register your selection of songs as soon as possible, to avoid any rejections!
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Music(Choice of Song), Theme, Theme Execution, Coordination, Choreography and Intensity of Dance, Costume & Properties.

Trio – Coordination

An enthralling dance performance requires the dancers to be synchronous with their dance movements. Trio aims to bring out the synchrony between the three dancers.

  • 2 teams per master team
  • 3 per team
  • 3+1 minutes
  • Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
  • The performance will be judged based on choreography, synchronization.
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.
  • Only the first two places will be awarded.

Oyilattam

Oyilattam dance form has got a beautiful meaning which stands as the dance of grace and is a folk dance. The origin of this beautiful exclusive dance is in Madurai.

  • 1 Team per master team
  • 4 to 15 members in a team
  • 3+1 minutes
