A two-day state-level inter-Anna University women’s Kho-Kho tournament was conducted at Paavai Engineering College on 24.02.2026 and 25.02.2026. Around 300 participants from nearly 20 teams representing various affiliated colleges of Anna University across the state took part in the competition.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Shri CA N.V. Natarajan, Founder and Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, who officially declared the tournament open. Ar. Avanthi Natarajan, Director Student Affairs, graced the occasion with her presence. The chief guest, Dr. Balakumaran, Secretary of the Sports Department, Anna University, delivered the special address.
In his speech, he emphasized that students should actively participate in sports competitions like these and strive to progress to higher levels. He highlighted the importance of maintaining good health through proper diet, regular walking, physical exercise, and meditation. He also mentioned that many students from Paavai Educational Institutions have excelled in sports and are now employed in government jobs, with over 50 serving as Sub-Inspectors of Police. He encouraged the participants to achieve excellence both in sports and academics and wished them success in reaching greater heights in life.
The event was attended by Mr. Immanuel, Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, Mr. Santhanaraja, Director of Physical Education, coaches, physical education instructors, and students from various colleges.
