Rainwater Harvesting
Paavai’s Green Mission of Conserving Water.
Amirthavarshini, our life-sustaining rainwater harvesting pond, reflects Paavai’s deep-rooted commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable living. Designed to capture and store up to 2 crore litres of rainwater, it plays a pivotal role in securing the campus’s water needs while fostering long-term ecological balance.
More than a functional asset, Amirthavarshini is a quiet yet powerful symbol of our alignment with nature—where conservation meets contemplation. It stands as a living reminder of how mindful infrastructure can nurture both the environment and the spirit of a campus.
Benefits
At Paavai, we believe in nurturing the very elements that sustain life—and in honouring Mother Nature with every mindful step we take. Amirthavarshini, our rainwater harvesting pond, is a quiet yet powerful tribute to this belief. Spanning 270 ft x 180 ft x 18 ft, it gathers every drop of rain that graces our campus, allowing the earth to drink deeply and replenish its veins.
More than a water body, Amirthavarshini has become a source of renewal for the Pachal region, recharging groundwater levels and gently easing the burden of water scarcity. With time, it has also helped reduce the salinity in the water, making it kinder, purer, and more nurturing—just like the spirit with which it was created.
