Motivational Talk for the Third Year Engineering Students

The Motivation Programme on the topic “Beyond the Sky” for the third year Engineering students of Paavai Institutions was held on 25.09.2018 at Ananda Arangam. The programme was inaugurated by Shri CA.N.V. Natarajan, the Chairman of Paavai Institutions. Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent, Deans and Principals graced the occasion. The Chairman commenced the session by showing the video, “Engineering is Logic”, and shot by Paavai students and he insisted that engineering is creativity, logic, skills and innovation. The Chairman uttered the success slogans such as “I can, I will, I must” for the students, which energized them. He narrated the life stories of Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder of PayTM), Andrew.E. Rubine (Android Developer) and Sathya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft) to improve the potentials and self-esteem of the students. He reviewed the process of Goal setting and encouraged the students to analyze their roles and responsibilities in pursuing their goals. He motivated the students to get university ranks and listed out the steps to attain gold medals. Through “Statistics”, the Chairman pointed out that the written goals will always fetch success. So, he asked the students to write down their goals, which in turn will become true in the long run. Further, he highlighted the following topics:

• The Challenges for Engineering students
• “Who I AM?”
• Success Cycle
• Opportunities for engineers in public & private sector, scope for self-employment and choices for higher education.

The session was interactive and the students were more enthusiastic. Finally, he concluded the session by saying that “Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved”. With these words the session came to an end.
