A two day Faculty Development Programme on Total Station & GPS was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at Paavai Institutions. The programme extended from 28.11.2017 to 29.11.2017 and 40 faculty members attended the programme.
The programme started on 28.11.2017 with brief inaugural address by Dr. M. Devi, Principal, Paavai College of Engineering and guidelines for the FDP was highlighted by Dr. S. Sukumar, Dean, Civil Engineering, Paavai Institutions. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College 417welcomed the gathering.
On the first day, Mr.M.Ganeshkumar, Assistant Professor, Paavai College of Engineering handled the sessions on Basic concept and fundamental measurements using Total station on forenoon and Mr.B.Thiyagarajan Assistant Professor, Paavai Engineering College conducted the field practice on working operations and measuring area of the field in the afternoon.
On the second day, Ms.K.Saranya Assistant Professor, Paavai College of Engineering, handled the sessions on Working Principle and Applications of GPS in the Forenoon . Mrs.P.Priyadharsini handled the afternoon session on the practical aspect of field practice and measuring horizontal and vertical angle of the field.
The programme came to an end on 29.11.2017 with feedback from the faculty members. All the faculty members told that they have enhanced their practical knowledge in Total Station & GPS, this will in turn benefit students. Finally, vote of thanks rendered by Mr.P.Kalimuthu, HOD/Civil, Paavai College of Engineering.
