A two day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Structural Analysis” was conducted by FDD team from 10/11/2016 to 11/11/2016 at Cute hall,Paavai Engineering College. Dr.S.Sukumar, Dean-Civil of Paavai Institutions was the resource person. There were totally 43 teachers from Paavai Engineering Colleges who attended the programme. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean-Academics of Paavai Engineering College welcomed the gathering and talked about the importance of the subject enhancement.
The FDP programme was organized in four sessions. It was based on Anna University syllabus for IV semester paper “Structural Analysis”. Our resource person delivered a topic on “Introduction of basic concepts in Structural Analysis” during first session. From this session, our faculties learnt how mathematical equations are expressed.
During the second session, “Flexibility Approach in Structural Elements” was taken and tutorials were given from the topic. This kind of tutorials activities helped our faculties to be strong in their subject.
On the second day (11/11/2016), “Stiffness Approach in Structural Elements” was handled by our resource person. Simultaneously tutorials were conducted on the respective topics. The way in which the topic was handled by the Dean, motivated the faculty to be strong in their fundamentals as well as to get updated in the respective topics.
In the last session, feedback was given by our faculty which ensured the relevance of the programme and fulfilled the objective. Finally vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.K.Selvi, Dean-Academics.
