Paavai Engineering College hosted a two days National Level Technical symposium TECHFINIX’22 on 20.10.2022 and 21.10.2022 at Anandha Arangam. The inaugural session commenced with an invocation followed with Tamilthaivazithu. Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions lighted the Kuthuvilaku along with the dignitaries.
In the presidential address, Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions focussed on five important parameters such as education, practice, effort, hardwork and success. He insisted that all must have a big goal in life. He also shared the experience of the late President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam’s visit to Paavai and his words “Think Big and Aim High”. He elucidated his vision and the success story behind the growth of Paavai Institutions with 18 students at its inception to 14,000 students now. He added that Paavai is a student centric institution that is mainly focussed for the progress and growth of the students. He also motivated the students to watch Ted Talks and build their inner confidence and improvise their knowledge.
Ms.S.Vaijayanthi, Associate Partner, IBM Consulting, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. In her inaugural address, she insisted that “If you have to be successful, you have to be one among them and unique ”. She also conveyed her gratitude for the great passion of the Chairman in building an educational institution. She appreciated the efforts taken by the students in showcasing a number of multidisciplinary projects. She even correlated “TECHFINIX” with “Phoenix bird” and the enormous efforts taken by the committee members towards the success behind the symposium. She insisted the students to focus on AI and Virtual reality projects, MOOC courses and ethical hacking concepts. She also added that mental wellbeing and communication aspects are the areas that has to be focussed on.
Earlier Ms.Cherub Ebenezer, Final year CSE, gave the welcome address and Ms.S.Sretharssene, Final year ECE gave the prelude to the symposium. Around 45 technical and non-technical events like Paper presentation, Technical quiz, Poster presentation, Air Crash Investigation, Glider Race/ Parachute Driving, Hitching, Land Preparation, Free Kie Talkie, Interlingual warble, FIR, Merry Blast, Mr.Charlie, Brick Modelling, Connection, Scale by Sight, A shot in the dark, Hoax, Code War, Brain Teaser, Photographic memory, Pace Predator, Circuit Debugging, Multimedia PPT, Circutrix, Mono-Act, Pic-Achu, Desafio, Mercado Pordat, Blind Coding, Web Design- Hosting in 1 hour, Tech Bioscope, IC Race, CAD Modelling, Water Rocketry, Machining, ROBO Soccer, ROBO War, Ad Zap, Master Mind, Musine, and Lucky Tab were conducted by the various departments and around 500 papers from various colleges like SRM, VIT, Bannari Amman, Anna University, Saveetha, RVS, Sona College of technology and from states like Kerela, Andhra Pradesh were received out of which 240 papers were shortlisted for presentation. Students exhibited their projects and their innovations at various spots in the campus.
The valedictory session was held on 21.10.2022 at Anandha Arangam from 4.00p.m. to 6.00p.m. Feedback were received from the participants and the valedictory address was given Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent Paavai Institutions. She insisted that faith and hope are essential for one’s life and one being a techie today, should understand the basic principles of life. She insisted the students to prioritise over things, differentiate between the do’s and don’ts, face rejections and not to lose the balance over the mind. She also insisted the crowd to focus on their physical and mental wellbeing. Cash prizes of Rs.3,50,000/- were distributed to the winners of the various events and participation certificates were also given. The session ended with a Vote of thanks by Ms.Priya, Third year Food Technology followed with National Anthem.
Director Admissions, Director Administration, ,Principals, Deans, Controller of Examinations, Conveners of Techfinix’22, Heads of various departments, faculty members and students from Paavai Engineering College, Juries and participants from various colleges attended the inaugural and valedictory sessions.
The actively growing participation of students from different colleges has affirmed the relevance and meaningfulness of this symposium. The fest was a synergy of the youth creativity and talent quotient. It was a hustle bustle affair with gamut of events rolled to test talent and mental ability, logical thinking and creativity. All in all it was a fun filled event jelled with cerebral grilling and creative palette.
