TWO DAY FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON KINEMATICS OF MACHINERY BY MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT

A two day intra-collegiate Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized on the subject ‘Kinematics of Machinery’ for Mechanical Engineering faculty members of Paavai Engineering Colleges on 29th and 30th of Nov 2018 at Paavai Engineering College. The resource persons were Dr.J.Selvakumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering, Mr.S.Maniraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Paavai Engineering College & Mr.A.Rajasekar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Pavai College of Technology. The program took place in four sessions covering theory and practicals related to the area ‘Kinematics of Machinery’. On the first day ‘Basics of Mechanisms, kinematics and its Applications’ were taught by Mr.S.Maniraj along with an audio visual presentation. In the second session the topic ‘Kinematics of linkage Mechanism’ was discussed by Dr.J.Selvakumar with problems to be solved. The next session was handled by Mr.A.Rajasekar, on the topic ‘Friction in Machine Elements’ and tutorial problems had been practised. On the second day in the morning session Mr.S.Maniraj explained about ‘Kinematics of CAM Mechanisms’ and he also trained the participants. The next session ‘Gears and Gear Trains’ which was taken by Mr.A.Rajasekar and he clarified the doubts of the participants. All the participants practised tutorial problems in the afternoon session of the second day program and they have clarified their doubts got clarified.while receiving their corrected exercise, the members gave their feedback that the program fulfilled their expectation. Earlier, Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics welcomed the gathering and talked about the need for FDP, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal,Paavai Engineering College and Director Admin encouraged the staff members to attend many more events of these types.
