Delivering the presidential address, Shri CA N. V. Natarajan expressed his happiness in welcoming the hostel students. He highlighted that although students come from different places and backgrounds, speak different languages, and belong to diverse cultures, they would learn and grow together in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect.
He explained that hostel life offers valuable opportunities for personal development, helping students learn to adapt to new social environments and build meaningful friendships. He emphasised that living in a hostel helps cultivate essential qualities such as punctuality, time management, self-reliance, teamwork, cooperation, and brotherhood, which contribute to a successful and disciplined life.
He further advised students to make effective use of their time by planning their academic activities, improving their academic performance, and preparing for internships and future career opportunities. He encouraged them to incorporate physical exercise, yoga, and meditation into their daily routines to maintain good physical and mental health.
The Chairman also stressed the importance of setting clear goals, identifying available opportunities, and developing the skills required to succeed in their chosen fields. He reminded students that the decisions and actions they undertake during their formative years play a significant role in shaping their future. He encouraged them to choose their friends wisely and cultivate the habit of appreciating others, explaining that a positive attitude can help reduce stress and strengthen relationships.
Concluding his address, he urged students to make the most of their college years and leave the institution with a distinct identity, strong values, and well-developed skills. He extended his heartfelt wishes for their academic success, personal growth, and lasting physical and mental well-being.
Following the address, the students presented a series of colourful and captivating cultural performances, adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. K. Dharanya, a third-year student of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
