The Faculty Development Department organized a Five Day Induction Programme for the recently recruited faculty members to make them familiar with the institutional practices and the instructional strategies of teaching and learning, because teachers are considered to be the pillars of Paavai. The inaugural ceremony was held at Smart Hall on 18.06.2025. The programme started invoking God’s bountiful blessings with the prayer song, followed by lighting of the kuthuvilakku. Shri. CA N.V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, delivered the Inaugural Address, emphasizing the pivotal role of teachers as exemplary role models who create an active and engaging learning environment within the classrooms. Sir also added that teachers should strive to constantly update their knowledge incorporating latest ICT tools. Sir also, highlighted the important role of value-based education and nourishment of human assets which would mold young student minds. Correspondent Madam, in her felicitation encouraged faculty members to cultivate a positive mindset all through their academic journey at Paavai. She recalled Chairman Sir’s dream as a seventeen year old student to establish Paavai Institutions. Madam also stressed on faculty members to leverage AI by carefully reworking on information given by AI using human assessment and intelligence. Dr.K.Selvi Dean Academics, PEC welcomed the gathering. The objectives and methodology of the induction programme were spelled out by Mrs.M.Janani AP/IT, PEC. 36 faculty members from Paavai Educational Institutions attended the Induction Programme.
After the inauguration, the formal sessions commenced. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Paavai Educational Institutions, Mrs.C.Jayalakshmi, Dean Counseling, Dr.R.R.Krishnamurthy, Director Centre for Research, Dr.M.PremKumar, Principal, PEC, Dr.B.Murali Babu, CoE, PEC, Dr,K.Selvi, Dean Academics, PEC , Dr.R.Thamariselvan, Head, Placement and Training, Dr.J.Murshitha Banu Professor and Head, FDD, Dr.D.Bhanumanthy, HoD/CSE and Dr.Mohanapriya, HoD/ECE were the resource persons for the programme who delivered pertinent topics such as, ‘Paavai on the Path of Progress’ , ‘Be Ethical’ ,‘Teachers are the Real Parents’, ‘Role of Teachers in Social Responsibility’, ‘Attitude, Skill and Knowledge’ , ‘Triple S relationship’, ‘Paavai Culture’, ‘Placements in Paavai’, ‘Be Fluent’, ‘Be Liberated, Be Happy’ and ‘Smart Teaching’.
Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions conducted the session on the topic entitled “Paavai on the Path of Progress”. The session commenced with an illuminating overview of the illustrious journey of Paavai Educational Institutions since their inception. Sir eloquently illustrated the institution’s remarkable ascent, attributing its growth to the unwavering dedication, relentless perseverance, and synergistic efforts of all stakeholders involved. He emphasized that the faculty of Paavai must embody the highest ideals of professional and moral excellence there by exemplifying qualities such as unwavering commitment, profound empathy, expansive knowledge, and genuine care. Sir also articulated a visionary aspiration for the students to evolve into paragons of modern India, firmly anchored in the nation’s timeless cultural heritage.
Mrs. Jayalakshmi, Dean of Counseling, highlighted the idea that “Teachers are the Real Parents” through real-life stories and motivational videos. She inspired teachers by sharing her personal experiences. Her focus was on inclusive teaching and empathetic support for slow learners. She emphasized the teacher’s role in nurturing every student’s potential.
Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director of Administration, emphasized the evolving roles of educators and the need for student-centered, practical teaching methods. He highlighted the importance of observation skills to understand learners and tailor instruction effectively. Mastery in subject knowledge, communication, and a pleasant demeanor were identified as key teaching traits. Real-life examples across disciplines were shared to reinforce these insights.
Dr. R.R. Krishnamurthy, Director of the Centre for Research, spoke on the “Role of Teachers in Social Responsibility.” He shared personal experiences of integrating social responsibility into teaching to empower students as active citizens. He emphasized the teacher’s role in shaping students’ values and civic awareness. His message highlighted education as a tool for building a just and compassionate society. Dr. K. Selvi, Dean of Academics at PEC, elaborated on the profound significance of Paavai Culture, emphasizing its role in shaping disciplined and value-driven individuals. She highlighted the essence of the Paavai Mantra, which instils confidence, positivity, and a sense of purpose in both faculty and students. She also shed light on the core Paavai Beliefs, rooted in tradition and holistic development. Her address underscored how these principles collectively foster academic excellence and personal growth.
Dr. M.PremKumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, ardently emphasized the paramount importance of cultivating a righteous and service-oriented attitude to become invaluable members of the Paavai fraternity. He emphasized that a positive attitude lays the foundation for acquiring knowledge and honing skills. He highlighted the maxim “One’s attitude determines one’s altitude”. Dr. B.MuraliBabu, CoE, elaborated on the critical importance of the ‘Triple S relationship’, emphasizing the need for a balanced and respectful connection amongst students, staff, and superiors. He stressed that while fostering strong relationships, there must be clear boundaries to ensure professionalism and mutual respect. His insight underscored the idea that healthy relationships are fundamental to the overall well-being and success of the institution.
Dr. J. Murshitha Banu, Professor and Head of FDD, delivered an insightful session on the importance of English language proficiency and communication skills as essential tools for students to thrive in the professional world. She emphasized that effective communication is a critical skill for success across various domains, both academically and professionally. Throughout the session, participants were provided opportunities to enhance their Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW) skills preparing students for the challenges of the global workforce. Dr.R.Thamariselvan, Head, Placement and Training spoke on the title ‘Placements in Paavai’. He explained that Paavai has demonstrated a strong commitment to placements, fostering a robust industry-academia connection that benefits its students. The college’s placement efforts are a testament to its dedication to student success and career advancement.
Dr. D. Bhanumathy, Head of the Department of CSE, delivered an engaging session on the topic ‘Be Liberated, Be Happy’, where she incorporated a series of thought-provoking activities and inspiring stories to captivate the audience. Her presentation emphasized the importance of mental freedom and happiness in both personal and professional life. Through these interactive elements, she encouraged the group to embrace a positive mindset and let go of limiting beliefs. Dr. Mohanapriya, Assistant Professor in ECE, emphasized the significance of Smart Teaching as an essential approach in modern education. She encouraged faculty members to leverage a variety of online teaching resources to enhance the learning experience. Through interactive demonstrations, she introduced several online tools that can make lessons more engaging and immersive for students. Her session highlighted the transformative power of technology in creating dynamic and interactive educational environments
Each resource person provided a detailed explanation and engaged in interactive sessions with the faculty members. A total of eleven topics were covered during the sessions. Faculty members presented model lessons based on their teaching units, and constructive feedback was given to refine their teaching skills. The program was tailored to meet the needs of the inductees, with the Faculty Development Department offering continued support to help them adapt to the Paavai environment. The Valedictory Function took place on 23.06.2025 at 10:00 am in Smart Hall. Faculty members provided their feedback, marking the successful conclusion of the induction program.
