The special address was delivered by Ms. Priyadharshini, who said,
“It is inspiring to see Paavai Educational Institutions emerging as a top college among all engineering colleges under Anna University by producing achievers in sports. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body, and sports provide that healthy body. Understanding this, your institution have created all necessary facilities to encourage students to participate in sports. In this regard, the cooperation extended by the Sports Department, its staff, and coaches has enabled Paavai students to achieve remarkable feats.
I am pleased to see that the institution has established sports facilities on par with international standards. This continued support has led to Paavai winning the Champion of Champions title for the ninth consecutive year in Anna University tournaments. As sports students, always maintain self-discipline, dedication, and unwavering focus on success. Respect both sports and academics equally, as both will uplift you when you put in your best efforts.
Success and failure are secondary; your relentless efforts are what truly matter. As the famous basketball player Michael Jordan said, even if you fail repeatedly, rise again with self-confidence.
Why is sports important for a student? Because it nurtures discipline, self-confidence, time management, a healthy lifestyle, and helps you gain respect in society. Therefore, make it a habit to engage in yoga, meditation, or sports for at least half an hour daily. This will reduce stress and promote a healthier life.
My best wishes to all of you to progress in life with confidence and consistent effort.”
Following her speech, Smt. Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, felicitated the gathering. Subsequently, the special guest distributed trophies and medals to the students and coaches who excelled in various sports competitions.
Earlier, the Chairman and Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions honored the special guest with a memento and a shawl.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sindhuja, a third-year Computer Engineering student, followed by a traditional folk dance performance.
