இன்றிருந்தால் நீ பாரதி – 143rd பாரதியார் பிறந்தநாள் விழா

The Bharathiyar Birth Anniversary was celebrated at Paavai Educational Institutions under the theme “இன்றிருந்தால் நீ பாரதி” The event was presided over by the Founder and Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Shri CA N.V. Natarajan, who delivered the presidential address. The special guest for the occasion was Pattimandram speaker Anugraha Adhibhagavan. Sarun Vishal, a second-year Information Technology student, delivered the welcome address and greeted the gathering.

Smt.Mangai Natarajan, the Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, delivered the felicitation address and added grace to the occasion.

This was followed by the special address by Pattimandram speaker Anugraha Adhibhagavan. In her speech, she highlighted that Paavai Educational Institutions celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahakavi Bharathiyar with the noble intention of taking his thoughts and vision to the younger generation is truly commendable. She stated that Bharathiyar was not just a poet but a visionary thinker. While society has gradually progressed over time, many of the social advancements and innovations we see today were already reflected in his poems and writings. She also noted that Bharathiyar was an excellent translator who translated notable works from languages such as French and Bengali into Tamil. Additionally, he was an ethical journalist who introduced many innovations in the field of journalism and was a pioneer of political cartoons seen in newspapers today. Historical records also show that Bharathiyar was a remarkable orator and singer.

She further mentioned that Bharathiyar dreamed of Tamil flourishing on the global stage. Today, Tamil is an official language in countries like India, Sri Lanka, and Singapore, and Tamil scripts are even printed on the currency of Mauritius. In line with the theme “இன்றிருந்தால் நீ பாரதி” she remarked that Bharathiyar would have been immensely happy to witness such developments. His poems also reflect his interest and contributions across fields such as science, astronomy, and commerce. He strongly voiced ideas on feminism, patriotism, and equality and was deeply rooted in love for language and nation. She concluded by encouraging the youth to emulate Bharathiyar’s qualities of love, compassion, and courage, break free from limiting thoughts, and grow into selfless individuals who uplift the nation.

The Chairman and Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions honoured the chief guest with a memento and a shawl.

Earlier, students delivered speeches on Bharathiyar, and prizes were distributed to the participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Raja Sri, a second-year Computer Science student, followed by the National Anthem.
